Geographic Heatmap

The geographic heatmap shows where fraud cases originate, aggregated by victim country. Use it to identify geographic hotspots and drill into country-level details.

Country Summary

The main view displays:

  • Countries: total number of countries represented in the data.

  • Total Cases: sum of all cases across countries.

  • Total Loss: aggregate financial loss.

Below the summary cards, countries are ranked by case volume with horizontal bars showing relative scale.

Country Drill-Down

Click any country in the list to open a detail panel showing:

  • Total case count and loss for that country.

  • Individual case records with case ID, classification badge, and loss amount.

Use the close button (×) to dismiss the detail panel.

Interpreting Hotspots

  • Countries with disproportionately high case counts relative to loss may indicate high-volume low-value fraud patterns.

  • Countries with high loss but low case count may indicate targeted high-value schemes.

  • Use the period selector to compare geographic patterns across time ranges.

Period Filter

Adjust the period (30d, 90d, quarter, year) to narrow or expand the time window. The summary stats, country rankings, and drill-down data all update to reflect the selected period.
